the mods are volunteers, they weren’t paid nor did they ask for pay
what they’re upset about is that Takaia is pocketing all the donation money rather than using it to update and improve the site, plus a lack of communication on getting things done yet refusing to let more mods/staff pitch in, so they’re quitting as protest.
the moderators want the event to keep going for the sake of the participants, but ArtFight’s future is dubious unless Takaia cleans up their act.
Put stress on the servers, continue to report suspicious behavior. We need to make it clear that they need moderation teams and to treat them better with respect. We need to make it clear that the servers need to be better and paid for else the site will go down with the sheer number of users.
Do not donate until the owner stops taking money
Do not put direct pressure on their mod team, if you want to ask questions specify that it should be answered by the admin team.

I have my own god awful experiences with the admin team. I’m glad people are coming out about the groomers that were reported on the site. I hope people will be finally safe and well.

as you might already know if you follow me, i've been i've been out of my job as a teacher and have been struggling to find something permanent to replace it, which leaves me on a very difficult financial situation, currently. i've already received some donations, which were already immensely helpful to me, and i've been making do as i can with some odd jobs i can find. i have hope that i may find something more stable soon, as i've been to more interviews lately, but in the meantime, i'm kind of completely broke, to be honest.

either tumblr's moderation staff is actively transmisogynistic or they have completely automated community label reviews and their automated system is, because of its training sets, transmisogynistic. and to be clear i think the second one is both more likely and also worse
Tumblr needs to step in and fix the system. If it's an AI or automation problem, it needs some human intervention. If it's a human problem, those humans need to find themselves unemployed or moved to a department where they can't fuck stuff up for other humans.
WGA's asking people interested in all the tree law fun to also sign this petition about a god damned bitch of an unsatisfactory situation on another street on the Same FUCKING lot. NBC Universal (whose CEO is Mike Cavanagh just btw in case Ron Pearlman is listening) has started a construction project that completely removed the sidewalks from five different gates, in two cases forcing pedestrians to literally walk into oncoming traffic. In addition to being an ADA violation, it's just flat out despicably evil of them and WGA's asking for public support on this issue.
I saw some folks mentioning that the UPS strike is probably not going to hit disabled people too hard because medical deliveries are prioritized. that is not really how things work. not all medical gear is sent through priority mail. a lot of medical stuff is sent through normal mail, from places like amazon and walmart and costco. even packages with medicine and supplements and equipment that can help prevent major injury are not marked or treated differently. it just says amazon on the box like every other package.

on the announcement that Disney+ is removing a plethora of shows and films from its service, please read these tweets from Willow writer John Bickerstaff. this is not a tax writeoff like Batgirl, because these projects have already been released. this is a move designed to cut off financial support in the form of residuals, and break the spirit of the strike. here is the deadline article that lists the films/shows that will be removed.
as always, donate to the entertainment community fund, vocally support the WGA online and irl, or join a picket in a major US city if you can. let them know they can't keep getting away with things like this.

LAPD detonated 5000 lbs of fireworks in the middle of a residential area, injuring at least 17 people and causing $900 million in various damages in a low-income, majority-POC neighborhood.
They then continue to pursue caging the person whose fireworks they stole while news media misreports to cover for police incompetency and destruction.
It took TWO YEARS to get the names of those involved with this incident. There are people still protesting, still living in hotels, still with unfulfilled claims to the city from this shit
